About the Skylight Quartet

Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world."

It is with the command and conviction of Mathew 28: 18-20 they choose venues, songs, music style, and testimonies used in each of their concerts. God has richly blessed Skylight and continues to use them to spread the word of hope and salvation throughout the mid-west.

Each year Skylight Quartet sings to thousands of individuals sharing the good news of the gospel through testimony and song. Whether it be during church services or at campgrounds, and arenas, Skylight wishes to preserve the familiar Southern Gospel sound and style so popular since its inception. Skylight Quartet has shared the stage with such well known, award winning, Southern Gospel groups as Triumphant Quartet, Tribute Quartet, The Dixie Echoes, and most recently with The Florida Boys, Danny Funderburk (The Cathedrals), and The Collingsworth Family.

Bass vocalist Kurt Vander Loon has managed the group since its beginning with baritone Rob Schrock, lead vocalist Mike Looney, and 1 st tenor Robert Vander Leest using their voices to create a unique blend of harmonies that audiences have come to recognize and enjoy.

Skylight Quartet would love to do a concert for your church or gathering during 2017. Dates are filling up very quickly so check your calendar and contact them today. Rob Schrock to Leave Skylight Quartet

Following God’s direction as we walk through this life is always rewarding yet sometimes difficult. After many months of prayer and deliberation, God has asked Rob to step down from ministry with Skylight and place his focus on serving at his local home church and spending more quality time with his family. Therefore, it is with both joy and sadness in our hearts, that Skylight Quartet announces the departure of our long time baritone, Rob Schrock. Rob has been an integral part of the Skylight Quartet since its inception, starting at the very beginning with Praises 4 Him.  Rob will continue performing with Skylight through the end of this concert season. Skylight wishes our brother all the best. Rob will always be part of Skylight’s ministry.

Welcome, Joe Hoy!

Skylight Quartet announces the addition of a new baritone vocalist.  Allow us to introduce Joseph (Joe) Hoy.   Joe has been singing Southern Gospel music as a soloist and group member for the better part of 20 years.  He and his wife Tammy currently live in Knox, Indiana and have two adult children.  The members of Skylight look forward to making Joe a part of their ministry and thank God for this answer to prayer.  Pray for Joe as he begins to learn and memorize the mountain of songs and vocal parts as we prepare for the 2018 concert season.  If learning all those songs wasn't enough, Skylight has begun the selection of new songs for an anticipated 2018 release of a new CD.   We are so thankful for what God has done in our ministry and look forward to what He has in store for the future.

Testimonials

"Whether the Skylight Quartet is in concert at a Civic Center, Auditorium, at a church, small or large, or at an outdoor meeting, they will have the audience laughing, crying, and enjoying the best in Gospel music. Their message is clear that they are singing to convey the message of God's salvation and his never-ending love.

You will hear happy, hand clapping rhythms, some soul searching ballads, and yes, traditional gospel classics. But also expect to hear a few of the old hymns of the church, done in the Skylight Quartet style, smooth and harmonious.

I am pleased to recommend the Skylight Quartet to any special service you may be having or to add good, quality Gospel music to your special occasion. I spent 42 years traveling the United States with the Heralders quartet, and I look forward to being at a Skylight Quartet sing whenever they are in the area. My home church has sponsored the Skylight Quartet on many occasions."

"If you ever want to hear great southern gospel music from a group who demonstrates the love of the Lord, then listen to the Skylight Quartet.

We had them at our church at Faith Fellowship Church in Irons, Michigan and our people loved them. They not only sing great and have terrific harmony, but they truly minister when they sing.

As a pastor and a former member of a southern gospel quartet, I have seen many groups come and go. The Skylight Quartet will not disappoint you; in fact, you will be blessed greatly. Thanks, Skylights, for coming so far to sing for the Lord Jesus Christ!"
